09-25-08Moving AheadAfter a successful weekend playing two more exhibition games, both wins against the PA Ice Hawks, The CHIEFS are looking forward to Friday nights game against the Tri-Town Thunder. Though both games weren't very pretty the players are learning more about each other and building team chemistry. Both games were not only close in score but also in how they were played. The CHIEFS were able to overcome some adversity and sluggish play to grind out the victories. Sunday nights game was a nail bitter to the end with the game winning goal being scored by Kyle Jones, assisted by Robert Keller with 0:47 left in the 3rd period. Way to grind it out to the end guys! We hope to see you all out in Aberdeen for our Friday nights game. Puck Drops at 7:30p (pre game warm up is at 7:00p) Come cheer em on!
09-16-08CHIEFS ARE BACKSept. 15th the CHIEFS headed out to play their first exhibition game of the season VS the Saskatoon Royals. After getting the game jitters out the CHIEFS headed to the dressing room down 1-0 after the first period. Coaches were happy with what they had seen in the first period with this being the first time the players had been together as a team. The start of the second period was fast and furious for both teams. The CHIEFS started their first rally and scored to tie the game 1-1. Not long after the tying goal the CHIEFS stepped it up and scored again taking the lead into the dressing room after 2 periods 2-1. The third period was much like the second with the CHIEFS playing hard and making good plays. Grinding out with the Royals the CHIEFS notched 2 more goals in the third taking a 4-1 lead to end the game. CHIEFS next action is Saturday September 20 at the AGRIPLACE TWIN ARENAS in Saskatoon vs the Prince Albert Icehawks. Game time is 7:00pm.
